Classic dance photography

We always love the classics, just because you’ve seen them before doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do them at the shoot- arabesques, plies etc always look great esp for audition applications. This is where we always start and forms the basis of the shoot

Lyrical looks

I like to get a lyrical look with all dancers if possible to show a different side to them. Softer and more expressive whether it’s with a beautiful floaty dress or skirt or more contemporary look with a large shirt.

The ropes

One of the most popular activities during shoot. The ropes are meant to compliment the tone, shapes and muscles of the dancer, they can throw them, pose with them or jump with them! Get inventive with shapes and patterns!

Reflections

Another one of our classic looks is the mirror floor, particularly good for flexible dancers, but almost any shape looks good!

Fabric photos- we have a huge range of fabrics and material to borrow during any shoot

Props

We have a huge range of furniture and props for dancers to use. it allows them to have fun using their imagination and creativity to come up with ideas and shapes, of course I can help point them towards things with which I think they might interract well and compliment their skills.

Sets- this is a multi set studio!

What does that mean? Basically it give you more choice, you can choose to be photographed on any of them.

Some we always use- the large white apron and background is always first- thats our classic look with the gray background.

Then there are 2 ballet sets, a white one and a gray one. An industrial set that looks like its made of girders, 2 grungy wood sets and the farm set- yes! Its looks good with anything! A beach white wood set and a grey and gold set!
