At my purpose-built studio in Essex, we’ll explore different sides of their dancing — beautiful ballet, expressive lyrical, powerful jumps or something full of personality.
There’s plenty to play with: classic and contemporary ballet sets, the industrial set, dramatic dark backgrounds, clean white spaces and mirror reflections. Add flowing fabrics, big skirts and an eclectic collection of props, and we have everything we need to create photographs that feel distinctly theirs.
A private changing room makes outfit changes easy, and I’ll guide them throughout with poses, encouragement and ideas. There’s time to settle in, try things and enjoy the experience.
And you get to watch it all unfold. Parents sit close to the set, sharing the excitement and seeing those moments when their dancer surprises themselves. If you usually spend dance lessons waiting outside, this is a chance to be part of it.
Afterwards, view the photographs calmly at home and choose your favourites — no decisions on the day.
